Natyashastra (theatrics and dramaturgy)
Source: Wisdom Library: Nāṭya-śāstra貹Բ (अपन्या) refers to the “semi-terminal note in Indian music, and is one of the ten characteristics (gati) of the پ (melodic class), according to the Nāṭyaśāstra chapter 28. It is also known as 貹Բپ or 貹Բ. پ refers to a recognized melody-type and can be seen as a precursor to 岵 which replaced them.
According to the Nāṭyaśāstra 28.99-100, 貹Բ occurs within the song (lit. limb) and is of fifty-six kinds. The 貹Բ occurring within the song is of fifty-six kinds.

Natyashastra (नाट्यशास्त्र, ṭyśٰ) refers to both the ancient Indian tradition (shastra) of performing arts, (natya—theatrics, drama, dance, music), as well as the name of a Sanskrit work dealing with these subjects. It also teaches the rules for composing Dramatic plays (nataka), construction and performance of Theater, and Poetic works (kavya).
Gitashastra (science of music)
: Shodhganga: Elements of Art and Architecture in the Trtiyakhanda of the Visnudharmottarapurana (gita)貹Բ (अपन्या) refers to one of the thirteen پs or “proper combination of two 峾 (in Indian music), according to the Kallinātha’s commentary Kalānidhi on the ṃgīٲٲ첹.—In the Nāṭyaśāstra, پs are broadly divided into two types viz., śܻ and ṛt. The ṃgīٲٲ첹 also agrees on it. But in the Viṣṇudharmottarapurāṇa, the reference about the types of پs is not found. The ṃgīٲٲ첹 accepts thirteen kinds of characteristic features of پs. For example: 貹Բ, which is also accepted by the Nāṭyaśāstra.
: Shodhganga: Kohala in the Sanskrit textual tradition (gita)貹Բ (अपन्या) refers to one of the thirteen characteristics of 岵 (considered an offshoot of پ in Indian music).—In the section on پ, Govinda Dīkṣita deals with śuddāپs, vikṛtaپs and saṃsargajāپs. He then starts explaining the thirteen aspects of 岵 (rāgāṇām trayodaśa lakṣaṇam) [e.g., 貹Բ] while commenting that these are applicable to the پs as well as to 岵 (which are off-shoots of the پs).
Gitashastra (गीतशास्त्र, īٲśٰ) refers to the ancient Indian science of Music (gita or samgita), which is traditionally divided in Vocal music, Instrumental music and Dance (under the jurisdiction of music). The different elements and technical terms are explained in a wide range of (often Sanskrit) literature.
