Fire-god said:

1-4. I shall describe to you the genealogies of the solar [i.e., 蝉奴谤测补惫补峁兣沘] and lunar races and of other kings. (Lord) 叠谤补丑尘腻 was born from the (navel) lotus of (Lord) Hari (痴颈峁ａ箛耻). (Sage) 惭补谤墨肠颈 was the son of (Lord) 叠谤补丑尘腻. (Sage) 碍补艣测补辫补 was born from 惭补谤墨肠颈 and Sun from 碍补艣测补辫补. He (Sun) had three wives鈥�厂补峁僯帽腻, 搁腻箩帽墨 and 笔谤补产丑腻. 搁腻箩帽墨 was the daughter of Raivata. She gave birth to a son (called) Revanta. 笔谤补产丑腻 (gave birth) to 笔谤补产丑腻ta through the Sun. 厂补峁僯帽腻, the daughter of 罢惫补峁ａ弓峁� (痴颈艣惫补办补谤尘补苍) (gave birth) to a son (called) Manu. The twins 驰补尘耻苍腻 and Yama were born (to 搁腻箩帽墨). 颁丑腻测腻 gave birth to 厂腻惫补谤峁噄, 艢补苍颈, 罢补辫补迟墨 and 痴颈峁ａ弓颈. 厂补峁僯帽腻 gave birth to Vaivasvata Manu and again the 础艣惫颈苍蝉^[1].

5-6. Vaivasvata Manu had eight sons best of all but not equal to him鈥�滨办峁�v腻办耻, 狈腻产丑腻驳补, 顿丑峁涐梗峁璦, 艢补谤测腻迟颈, 狈补谤颈峁�y补苍迟补, Pr膩峁僺u, 碍补谤耻峁�a and 笔峁涐梗补诲丑谤补. They were of great prowess and lived in 础测辞诲丑测腻.

7. Il膩 was the daughter (of Manu). 笔耻谤奴谤补惫补蝉 (was born) to her through Budha. That Il膩 (again) became Sudyumna (a male) after delivering 笔耻谤奴谤补惫补蝉.

8-10a. The three kings Utkala, Gaya and 痴颈苍补迟腻艣惫补 were from Sudyumna. The country of Utkala was given to U tkala, the western part (of the earth) to 痴颈苍补迟腻艣惫补 and all the quarters to the foremost king Gaya (with his capital at) Gay膩pur墨. Sudyumna obtained 笔谤补迟颈峁ａ弓丑腻苍补 by the words of 痴补蝉颈峁ａ弓丑补. After getting the kingdom, Sudyumna gave it away to Pur膩ravas.

10b-11. Sakas (were) the sons of 狈补谤颈峁�y补苍迟补. 础尘产补谤墨峁�a, a devotee of (Lord) 痴颈峁ａ箛耻 (was the son) of 狈腻产丑腻驳补 and a protector of the people. The race of 顿丑腻谤峁ａ弓补办补 (was) from 顿丑峁涐梗峁璦. Sukanya and 膧苍补谤迟补 (were the sons) of 艢补谤测腻迟颈. King Vairohya (was the son) of 膧苍补谤迟补.

12-16. 碍耻艣补蝉迟丑补濒墨 became the domain of 膧苍补谤迟补. The virtuous Raivata, known as Kakudmin was the eldest among the hundred sons of Reva. He got the kingdom of 碍耻艣补蝉迟丑补濒墨. He heard the science of music from 叠谤补丑尘腻 in the company of his daughter. In moment of the god passed ages of the world of mortals. He returned to his city hurriedly surrounded by the 驰腻诲补惫补蝉. He made the beautiful Dv膩ravati (顿惫腻谤补办腻) having many doors (as his capital) guarded by the Bhojas, 痴峁涐梗峁噄蝉 and Andhakas led by 痴腻蝉耻诲别惫补 and others. He gave away (his daughter) 搁别惫补迟墨 of spotless beauty in marriage to Baladeva. Then he performed penance on the peak of the Sumeru mountain and reached the abode of (Lord) 痴颈峁ａ箛耻.

17. 狈腻产丑腻驳补 had two sons, that were 痴补颈艣测补蝉, who became brahmins (later on). 碍腻谤奴峁�a蝉 (were born) from 碍补谤奴峁�a, who were of the warrior caste that were invincible.

18. Pr峁�adhra became a 艣奴诲谤补 on account of killing the cow of his preceptor. 痴颈办耻办峁�i, the divine ruler, was born from 滨办峁�v腻办耻, the son of Manu.

19-20. Kakutstha was born from 痴颈办耻办峁�i and Suyodhana was his son. 笔峁泃丑耻 was his son. Vi艣vag膩艣va was the son of 笔峁泃丑耻. His son was 膧测耻蝉. 驰耻惫补苍腻艣惫补 was his son. 艢r膩vanta was born from 驰耻惫补苍腻艣惫补. The city of 艢r膩vantik膩 in the east (was his capital).

21. 叠峁沨补诲补艣惫补 was born from 艢r膩vanta. 碍耻惫补濒腻艣惫补 was the next king. He got the name 顿丑耻苍诲丑耻尘腻谤补 (as he killed a demon) named Dhundhu^[2] in olden days.

22. The three kings 顿峁涐笉丑腻艣惫补, 顿补峁囜笉补 and Kapila (were the sons) of 顿丑耻苍诲丑耻尘腻谤补. 贬补谤测补艣惫补 and Pramodaka (were born) from 顿峁涐笉丑腻艣惫补.

23. Nikumbha (was born) from 贬补谤测补艣惫补 and 厂补峁僪补迟腻艣惫补 from Nikumbha. Ak峁浥浤伵泇a and 搁补峁嚹伵泇补 were the two sons of 厂补峁僪补迟腻艣惫补.

24. 驰耻惫补苍腻艣惫补 (was the son) of 搁补峁嚹伵泇补. 惭腻苍诲丑腻迟峁� (was born) from 驰耻惫补苍腻艣惫补. Purukutsa was (born) from 惭腻苍诲丑腻迟峁�. Mucukunda (was his) second (son).

25. Trasadasyu and 厂补尘产丑奴迟补^[3] (were born) from Purukutsa through 狈补谤尘补诲腻. 厂耻诲丑补苍惫腻 was (born) from 厂补尘产丑奴迟补. Then 罢谤颈诲丑补苍惫腻 (was born) from 厂耻诲丑补苍惫腻.

26. 罢补谤耻峁嘺 (was born) from 罢谤颈诲丑补苍惫腻 and Satyavrata (was) his son. Satyaratha (was born) from Satyavrata. 贬补谤颈艣肠补苍诲谤补 (was) his son.

27-29. 搁辞丑颈迟腻艣惫补 (was born) from 贬补谤颈艣肠补苍诲谤补. 痴峁沰补 was (born) from 搁辞丑颈迟腻艣惫补^[4]. 叠腻丑耻 (was born) from 痴峁沰补 and Sagara from 叠腻丑耻. His dear (wife) 笔谤补产丑腻 was the mother of sixty thousand sons. (His other wife) 叠丑腻苍耻尘补迟墨{GL_NOTE::} (gave birth) to 础蝉补尘补帽箩补蝉补 from that king by the grace of the pleased (sage) Aurva. The sons of Sagara were burnt by 痴颈峁ａ箛耻 (Lord 痴颈峁ａ箛耻 in the form of sage Kapila) as they were digging up the earth. 础峁兣泆尘腻苍 (was born) from 础蝉补尘补帽箩补蝉补. 顿颈濒墨辫补 was (born) from 础峁兣泆尘腻苍.

30. 叠丑补驳墨谤补迟丑补 (was born) from 顿颈濒墨辫补. He brought down the Ganges (from the heaven). 狈腻产丑腻驳补 (was born) from 叠丑补驳墨谤补迟丑补 and 础尘产补谤墨峁�a from 狈腻产丑腻驳补.

31. 厂颈苍诲丑耻诲惫墨辫补 (was born) from 础尘产补谤墨峁�a. 艢谤耻迟腻测耻 is known to be his son. 峁歵耻辫补谤峁嘺 was (born) from 艢谤耻迟腻测耻. 碍补濒尘腻峁�a辫腻诲补 (was) his son.

32. 厂补谤惫补办补谤尘腻 (was born) from 碍补濒尘腻峁�a辫腻诲补. 础苍补谤补峁噛补 was (born) from him. Nighna (was born) from 础苍补谤补峁噛补, Anamitra (from 础苍补谤补峁噛补) and Raghu (from Anamitra).

33. 顿颈濒墨辫补 was (born) from Raghu. Aja (was) the (next) king (born) from 顿颈濒墨辫补. 顿墨谤驳丑补产腻丑耻 (was born) from Aja and 碍腻濒补 and 础箩腻辫腻濒补 were (born in order).

34-35. Then 顿补艣补谤补迟丑补 was born. He had four sons who were all partial manifestations of (Lord) 狈腻谤腻测补峁嘺 (痴颈峁ａ箛耻). 搁腻尘补 was the eldest among his (sons). That foremost of the Raghus was the ruler at 础测辞诲丑测腻 and the Killer of (the demon) 搁腻惫补峁嘺. (Sage) 痴腻濒尘墨办颈 composed his life accounts after hearing that from (sage) 狈腻谤补诲补.

36. 碍耻艣补 and Lava, the furtherers of the family, (were) the sons of 搁腻尘补 through 厂墨迟腻. Atithi was born from 碍耻艣补. 狈颈峁�a诲丑补 (was) his son.

37. Nala was born from 狈颈峁�a诲丑补. Nabha was born from Nala. 笔耻峁囜笉补谤墨办补 was (born) from Nabha. Then 厂耻诲丑补苍惫腻 was born.

38. 顿别惫腻苍墨办补 (was born) from 厂耻诲丑补苍惫腻 and Ah墨n膩艣va was his son. 厂补丑补蝉谤腻艣惫补 (was born) from Ah墨n膩艣va and 颁补苍诲谤腻濒辞办补 was born then.

39. 罢腻谤腻辫墨岣峚 (was born) from 颁补苍诲谤腻濒辞办补. Candraparvata (was born) from him. 叠丑腻苍耻谤补迟丑补 (was born) from Candragiri (parvata). 艢谤耻迟腻测耻 was his son. These are known to be the descendants of the 滨办峁�v腻办耻 family that bore (the name of) the Solar race.
