厂腻惫补谤峁噄 (啶膏ぞ啶掂ぐ啷嵿ぃ啶�) is the son of 颁丑腻测腻 and Bh膩skara (sun-god): the son of Aditi and 碍补艣测补辫补 according to the 痴补峁兣浤乶耻肠补谤颈迟补 section of the 10th century 厂补耻谤补辫耻谤腻峁嘺: one of the various Upapur膩峁嘺s depicting 艢aivism.鈥擜ccordingly, the 厂补耻谤补辫耻谤腻峁嘺 30.27-73 and chapter 31 descibes the 惫补峁兣浤乶耻肠补谤颈迟补 in an abridged form. It is stated that Aditi got from 碍补艣测补辫补, Bh膩skara, the Sun-god. The Sun-god had four wives鈥擲a峁僯帽膩, R膩j帽墨, Prabh膩 and 颁丑腻测腻. Sa峁僯帽膩 gave birth to Manu from the Sun-god in whose race were born the kings. 颁丑腻测腻 gave birth to 厂腻惫补谤峁噄 (and possibly a daughter named Tapat墨).
The Purana (啶啶班ぞ啶�, pur膩峁嘺s) refers to Sanskrit literature preserving ancient India鈥檚 vast cultural history, including historical legends, religious ceremonies, various arts and sciences. The eighteen mahapuranas total over 400,000 shlokas (metrical couplets) and date to at least several centuries BCE.
