21. վśṣoپ
विशेषोक्तिर् अखण्डेषु कारणेष� फलावचः � १०.१०८ab �
śṣoپr akhaṇḍeṣu ṇeṣu phalāvaca� || 10.108ab ||
śṣa-ܰپ�—t ornament called śṣoپ; akhaṇḍeṣu—a; ṇeṣu—when the causes are present; phala-�—t nonmention of a result (mentioning the absence of an effect).[1]
Not mentioning the effect when all the usual causes are present is śṣoپ (no effect in spite of a cause).
kāraṇa-kalāpe saty api kāryānuktir śṣoپ�. sāpi pūrva-vad dvedhā.
Not stating the effect although the whole set of causes is present is śṣoپ. It has two varieties, as in the case of 屹.
