This page relates ‘Benefits of Worship Jyotirlinga� of the English study on the Shaivacintamani—an unstudied text on Shaiva or Shiva worship by Lakshmidhara Mishra, written in the late 17th century and edited for the first time in 1994 by Shri Dukhisyam Pattanaik from the Orissa State Museum. The present research aims to offer a comprehensive study of the Saivacintamani, filling the knowledge gap by being the first to provide in-depth analysis and commentary.

Part 4.13 - Benefits of Worship dzپṅg
The devotee will worship 12 dzپṅg to free all types of sins and go Śǰ첹. In Ś Purāṇa describes benefits of worship dzپṅg.
dzٳ,[1] annihilated the distress of the moon. O sage,by worshipping, it dispels the aliments of consumption, Leprosy etc.
The 2nd incarnation of Ś ѲܲԲ[2], on the mountain, Śrīśail, is the bestower of the desires of devotees. It is very pleasing. By seeing and worshipping it one derives salvation hereafter. There is no doubt in this.[3]
Ś incarnated himself as Ѳ[4] in the city of Ujjain for the protection of his devotees. The devotee will worshipping the phallic image of Ѳ, he attains his desires and the greatest goal.[5]
The Demon ūṣaṇa,[6] a resident of 鲹ٲԲ, was a defiler of Vedic rites, a hater of Brahmins and destroyer of everyone, when he reached Ujjain, the Lord was meditated upon by the sons of the Vedic Brahmins. He reduced the demon to ashes by a mere ṃk. After killing him, on being requested by the gods; lord Ѳ stayed there in form of dzپṅg. He continues to protect his devotees.
The fourth Incarnation of Ś the supreme soul, the great lord in ṃk[7] Ի is a bestower of the desire of his devotees. This phallic image installed by .He fulfilled the desire of the mountains.[8] The fifth great incarnation of Ś is the ś. He is stationed in [9] in the form of dzپṅg.This phallic image eśvara was worshipped everyday by devotee. He is the fulfill all desire of the devotees, by his sight and worship.[10]
The sixth incarnation of Ś, the great lord named īśṅk[11], performed great sports. He destroyed the demon ī. Lord is killing this wonderfully lusty demon who caused misery to the devotees, the lord saved the devotee ܻ岹ṣiṇa who was the king of 峾ū貹.[12]
The 7th incarnation of Ś the great Lord վśś[13] at śī is in the form of the entire cosmic egg. It yields worldly pleasures and salvation. He is always worshipped by վṣṇ and all other gods as well as Kubera and Bhairava. The devotee repeat the names of śī and վśś and perform their Japa with devotion become unaffected by actions and reach the state of kaivalya.[14]
The 8th incarnation Tryambaka[15] of the moon crested lord Ś made its appearance on the Banks of river Ҳܳٲī on being requested by the sage Gautama. The devotee will worshipping this phallic image fulfill all types of desires, at the sight and touch of the great Lord. Thereafter salvation too is attained[16].
The 9th incarnation is glorified as ղⲹٳ[17]. The lord indulging in many sports manifested himself for the sake of 屹ṇa. This phallic image name ղⲹٳ became famous in the three worlds. Seeing and worshipping him with devotion yields wordly pleasures and salvation.[18]
The incarnation of 岵ś is glorified as the tenth one. The lord manifested himself as the chastiser of the wicked for his devotees. He killed the ṣa ܰ첹, a violator of virtue. He saved his devotee ܱ, he was merchant king.[19]
The incarnation of Ś is the eleventh one. It was pleasing to 峾 and it was installed by him. The grandeur of 峾ś[20] in the world was wonderful and incomparable, yielding worldly pleasures and salvation and bestowing the desires of devotees ever.[21] The incarnation of Ś as ҳśś[22] is the tweleveth wherein the lord indulged in different sports and conferred bliss on ҳś. He is favourably disposed towards his devotees.
