(Fast on the ninth lunar day). This is a special fast taken in the month of Tul膩m (October-November) with a view to obtain 'Bhukti' (enjoyment or possession) and 'Mukti' (Beatitude). The important rite of this worship is to take fast on the ninth night of the bright lunar fortnight in the month of Tul膩m and worship goddess 骋补耻谤墨. This navam墨 is also called 骋补耻谤墨navam墨. Another name of this navam墨 is Pi峁ａ弓膩ka navam墨. This name is given because on that day Pi峁ａ弓am (ground rice) is eaten and the goddess is worshipped. In the bright lunar fortnight of the month of Tul膩m (膧艣惫颈苍补), on the eighth night when the star is M奴lam and the Sun is in the zodiac of 碍补苍测腻 if there is the touch of Navam墨, it is called Agh膩rdananavam墨 or Mah膩navam墨.

Worship could be conducted on the days mentioned, by consecrating the goddess 顿耻谤驳腻 in nine temples or in one temple only. When the goddess is consecrated in nine temples they are meditated upon as nine separate beings. In such cases Goddess 顿耻谤驳腻 should be consecrated with eighteen hands and the rest of the goddesses with sixteen hands. Of the eighteen two should be holding Antimony and 岣峚尘补谤耻 (a small drum shaped like an hourglass), and the remaining sixteen hands should hold weapons that the other goddesses hold. The nine goddesses to be worshipped are 搁耻诲谤腻, 颁补峁囜笉腻, 笔谤补肠补峁囜笉腻, 颁补峁囜笉辞驳谤腻, 颁补峁囜笉补苍腻测颈办腻, 颁补峁囜笉补惫补迟墨 and 颁补峁囜笉补谤奴辫腻 and in the middle of these eight beings the great goddess 顿耻谤驳腻 who is 鲍驳谤补肠补峁囜笉腻 and the slayer of 惭补丑颈峁Ｄ乻耻谤补. 顿耻谤驳腻 is addressed with the spell of ten letters "Om, Durge Durgek峁�i峁噄 厂惫腻丑腻." Adoration, offering to ancestors and exclamation in sacrifice (Namask膩ra, 厂惫补诲丑腻办腻谤补 and 痴补峁�a峁璳腻谤补) should be denoted by six words and the 础峁単补蝉 (organs) beginning with heart also should be imagined. This rootspell should be repeated resting the organs such as heart etc. on the fingers. He who repeats this secret spell of goddess, will never be troubled by enemies.

The goddess should be worshipped by meditating upon her as carrying the weapons such as 碍补辫腻濒补 (skull), 碍丑别峁璦办补 (shield) 骋丑补峁囜弓腻 (bell), Mirror, 罢补谤箩补苍墨, bow, dhvaja (flag), 岣峚尘补谤耻 (drum) and 辫腻艣补 (rope) in the left hands and 艢补办迟颈 (dart) Mudgara, trident, vajra, sword, spear, conch, wheel and 艢al膩ka (antimony) in the right hands. These weapons also should specially be worshipped.

In the worship of the goddess, a cow (sacrificial animal) should be beheaded with a sword repeating the spell 碍腻濒墨 碍腻濒墨 and the blood and flesh of that cow should be offered as oblation to the goddess 笔奴迟补苍腻 uttering the spell, 碍腻濒墨 碍腻濒墨 痴补箩谤别艣惫补谤墨, lauhada峁囜笉膩yai 苍补尘补岣�." Offering to 笔奴迟补苍腻 should be made in the south west corner of the shrine of the 顿别惫墨. In the same way offerings of blood and flesh should be made to the goddesses P膩par膩k峁�as墨 in the North West corner, Carak墨 in the North East corner and 痴颈诲腻谤颈办腻 in the South East corner. The same form of offerings should be made to the god Mah膩kau艣ika in the south East corner. The King should bathe in front of this god Mah膩kau艣ika and making an image of his enemy with rice flour, should break it. Then give that rice flour as oblation to the gods Skanda and 痴颈艣腻办丑补 and worship the female ancestors such as 叠谤腻丑尘墨 and such others in the night. As ordained in the Vedas, the 顿别惫墨 should be bathed in 笔补帽肠腻尘峁泃补 (milk, curds, butter, honey and water) and then worship before her, uttering the spell "Jayant墨ma峁単ala 碍腻濒墨, 叠丑补诲谤补办腻濒墨 碍补辫腻濒颈苍墨, 顿耻谤驳腻 艢颈惫腻 碍峁�a尘腻 顿丑腻迟谤墨 厂惫补诲丑腻 厂惫腻丑腻 Namostu te".
