the Gobhila Gṛhya karma Prakāśikā. No literature is preserved.

(32) THE BHĀRUNDA ŚĀKHĀ
It is mentioned by Mahidāsa.
The Puranic list of the Samavedic schools is lengthy 85. Accor-
ding to them Vyāsa taught the Samaveda to Jaimini and Jaimini
to his own son Sunvan and Sunvān to Sukarman. Sukarman's two
pupils are Hiranyanābha Kausalya and Pauṣyañji or Pauspiñji.
Hiranyanābha Kausalya was a pracya samaga and Pauspinji an
udīcya. Hiraṇyanābha Kausalya's pupil was Kṛta, who according
to the Matsya Purāṇa was
was
a son of king Sannatimat, of the
Paurava dynasty (49. 75-76 I). He taught his Samhita to twenty
four pupils who were named after him as Kārtā� and were
