(19) THE BHĀGURI ŚĀKHĀ

Acārya Bhaguri is referred to in the Prapancahṛdaya, the
Gobhila Gṛhyakarma Prakāśikā, The Jaiminiya Gṛhyasūtra and
the verses quoted by Mahidāsa in his commentary on the Caraṇa-
vyuha. The Bṛhaddevatā has mentioned him as an authority.
No literature of this Śākhā has come down to us.
(20) THE DURVĀSĀ ŚĀKHĀ
In the Prapancahṛdaya, Gobhila Grhyakarma Prakāśikā
and Jaiminiya Sutra this Śākhā is mentioned. A Durvāsas is
famous for irritable nature in the Purāṇas. No literature of this
Śākhā is available.
(21) THE CHANDOGYA SAKHA
This Sākhā is mentioned in the Prapañcahṛdaya. Most
probably this school was based on the Brāhmaṇa and the Upanisad.
The Brāhmaṇa and Chandogya Upanisad are published.
(22) THE GARGYA ŚĀKHĀ
This Śākhā is mentioned in the Prapañcahṛdaya, Gobhila-
gṛhyakarma Prakāśikā, Jaiminiya Sūtra and the commentary of
Mahidāsa on the Caraṇavyuha. We have no knowledge about
this Śākhā. No literature of this Śākhā is known.
(23) THE AUPAMANYAVA ŚĀKHĀ
Reference has been made to it in many texts which mention
the schools of the Samaveda. No literature is known.
(24) THE SAVARNYA ŚĀKHĀ
This Sākhā is mentioned in the Prapañcahṛdaya. But no
literature is available.
(25) THE SARAYANIYA ŚĀKHĀ
It has been included in the list of Samavedic Sakhās by the
author of the Atharvana Caraṇavyuha. Nothing is known about it.
(26) THE PRACĪNAYOGYA SAKHĀ
It has been included in the Samavedic Schools by the
Mahidāsa and the Jaiminiya Upanisad Brāhmaṇa (I. 39. 1).
