My newly wedded wife brings me great happiness because of her crossness itself."67 Here Jimutavahana takes pleasure in the adverseness of his beloved. Agnimitra goes one step further and says- "She, trembling all over, obstructs the hand, the fingers of which are active in seizing the girdle; she makes her hands serve as a cover- ing for the breasts when being embraced by force; she turns away the face with the eyes having beautiful eye- lashes, when being raised up in order to kiss. Even under the pretext she does bring to me the pleasure in the form of fulfilment of the longing."68 Yayāti not only describes the adverseness of Sarmiṣṭhā but also shows her little pride.
