This page relates ‘Pentads of Krama system� of the English study of the Cidgaganacandrika: an important Tantric work belonging to the Krama system of Kashmir Shaivism. Written by Kalidasa (Shrivatsa) in 312 Sanskrit verses, the Cidgagana-Candrika deals with the knowledge regarding both the Macrocosmic and Microcosmic phenomena. This study includes renditions from the two available commentaries—the Divyacakorika and the Kramaprakashika

Part 1d - Pentads of Krama system
Åš°ùÄ«±èÄ«³Ù³ó²¹ with nine °²¹±ôÄå²õ is also identified with ±Ê²¹Ã±³¦²¹±¹Äå³ó²¹, the basic pentad.
- Primal subjective stirâ€�Ä€»å²â²¹²õ±è²¹²Ô»å²¹[1],
- Extrovert subjective tendency[2],
- The stir of means of Perception[3],
- The rise of tendency in the means of knowledge to apprehend determinately,

Quartic Tendency
Basic concepts of Krama are also classified in groups of four. The fifth function (Anugraha/µþ³óÄå²õ²¹) is included in the fourth viz., °Õ¾±°ù´Ç»å³óÄå²Ô²¹ or ´¡²ÔÄå°ì³ó²â²¹. Ultimate reality here is not µþ³óÄå²õ²¹ but ´¡²ÔÄå°ì³ó²â²¹. The fifth power, Cit of the Absolute is subsumed under Ä€²Ô²¹²Ô»å²¹. Division of twelve °Äå±ô¾±²õ of Samvit cakra are formed by the four functions in relation to each of the Subject (±Ê°ù²¹³¾Äå³Ùá¹�), object (Prameya) and means of knowledge (±Ê°ù²¹³¾Äåṇa). ³ÕÄ峦 under this does not reckon the ³§Å«°ìá¹£m²¹ introduced to the popular Four-fold speech[14].
