5. Vishkambha (brief description of story)
In Natyashastra Bharata described the form of Vishkambha as given below:

The Arthopakshepaka with the features like �Madhyama�characters, medium is in Sanskrit, a brief description of story likes praveshaka is called Vishkambha. It is of two types Shuddha (Madhyamapatras) and Sankirna (both Nica and Madhyama characters).
According to Dasharupaka

The explanatory scene which is presented by middling characters and is for the purpose of condensing, explains parts of the story that have happened or are about to happen.[3]
And in Sahityadarpana�

As per the above mentioned rules of dramaturgy, the author fabricated the Vishkambha of Annadatricarita in the starting of the fourth act. This is a Sankirnavishkambha because it is performed by both nica and madhyama characters. Three soldiers, two army chiefs, Shakuni, Duryodhana and Karna are the characters appears in it.
