Story of ¶ÙÄå°ù³Ü°ì²¹

ÅšrÄ« °­á¹›á¹£á¹‡a’s charioteer.

In the ²Ñ²¹³óÄå²ú³óÄå°ù²¹³Ù²¹, we come across few persons who excel ¶ÙÄå°ù³Ü°ì²¹ in their skill as charioteers. We find the following details about him in the ²Ñ²¹³óÄå²ú³óÄå°ù²¹³Ù²¹:â€�

1) When ÅšrÄ« °­á¹›á¹£á¹‡a fought against King ÅšÄå±ô±¹²¹, ¶ÙÄå°ù³Ü°ì²¹ was over-whelmed by ÅšÄå±ô±¹²¹â€™s arrows. (²Ñ²¹³óÄå²ú³óÄå°ù²¹³Ù²¹ Vana Parva, Chapter 21, Verse 5).

2) At the time of the battle at °­³Ü°ù³Ü°ìá¹£e³Ù°ù²¹, hearing the sound of ÅšrÄ« °­á¹›á¹£á¹‡a’s conch-shell, ¶ÙÄå°ù³Ü°ì²¹ drove his chariot and brought it before ÅšrÄ« °­á¹›á¹£á¹‡a. (²Ñ²¹³óÄå²ú³óÄå°ù²¹³Ù²¹ ¶Ù°ù´Çṇa Parva, Chapter 147, Verse 45).

3) When ³§Äå³Ù²â²¹°ì¾± fought with °­²¹°ùṇa, ¶ÙÄå°ù³Ü°ì²¹ drove ³§Äå³Ù²â²¹°ì¾±â€™s chariot. At that time he proved his extraordinary skill in charioteering. (²Ñ²¹³óÄå²ú³óÄå°ù²¹³Ù²¹ ¶Ù°ù´Çṇa Parva, Chapter 147, Verse 54).

4) After being attended by ¶ÙÄå°ù³Ü°ì²¹, ÅšrÄ« °­á¹›á¹£á¹‡a’s chariot horses flew up into the Heavens. (²Ñ²¹³óÄå²ú³óÄå°ù²¹³Ù²¹ Mausala Parva, Chapter 3, Verse 5).

5) It was ¶ÙÄå°ù³Ü°ì²¹ who informed the ±ÊÄåṇḲ¹±¹²¹²õ that the ³Û²¹»å³Ü±¹²¹á¹ƒÅ›a had perished. On his return, he accompanied Arjuna in his journey to ¶Ù±¹Äå°ù²¹°ìÄå. (²Ñ²¹³óÄå²ú³óÄå°ù²¹³Ù²¹ Mausala Parva, Chapter 5).
