The Garga-samhita Verses 4.2.9-10, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 4 of Chapter 2 (The Story of the Gopis That Had Been Sages) of Canto 4 (madhurya-khanda).

सत� दैन्ये कन्यका� स्यु�
का�-तालीयवद् गृहे
तस्मात� कस्याप� राज्ञस� तु
धनिन� बलिनस् त्व् अहम्
दास्याम्य् एताः कन्यकाश् �
कन्यानां सौख्�-हेतव�
कदर्थी-कृत्� ता� कन्य�
एव� बुद्ध्या स्थितो ऽभवत�
तदैव मथुराद� देशाद्
गोपश� चैकः समागतः

sati dainye 첹Բⲹ� syu�
첹-tālīyavad gṛhe
tasmāt kasyāpi rājñas tu
dhanino balinas tv aham
dāsyāmy etā� kanyakāś ca
첹Բnā� saukhya-hetave
첹岹ٳī-ṛtⲹ tā� 첹Բ
eva� buddhyā sthito 'bhavat
tadaiva mathurād deśād
gopaś caika� samāgata�

satibeing; 岹Բ�poor; 첹Բⲹ�the girls; ܳ�are; -īⲹ�unexpectedly; ṛh�in the home; ٲ�from that; 첹辱�of someone; ñḥ�a king; ٳ�indeed; 󲹲ԾԲḥ�wealthy; Բḥ�powerful; ٳ�certainly; 󲹳�I; 峾�will give; ḥ�these; 첹Բⲹḥ�girls; and; 첹Բ峾�of girls; saukhya-ٲ�for the happiness; 첹岹ٳī-ṛtⲹbecome unhappy; ḥ�them; 첹Բthe girls; 𱹲�thus; ܻ�thinking; ٳ󾱳ٲḥ�situated; 󲹱�became; ٲthen; 𱹲�indeed; ٳܰ�from Mathura; ś�province; DZ貹�gopa; and; 첹ḥ�one; 岵ٲḥ�come.

English translation of verses 4.2.9-10:

Now that I am suddenly poor, how will I make my daughters happy by marrying them to wealthy and powerful kings?

As Ѳṅg was thinking in this way, a gopa from Ѳٳܰ district came to his home.
