Pāda 3: How a Person with Transcendental Knowledge Leaves his Material Body;
վṣaⲹ [thesis or statement]: Now is begun a new discussion to show that ܱǰ첹 and other places should be added to the sequence that begins with light.
In the previously quoted passage from ṣītī 貹Ծṣa [1.3] it was said:
� एत� दे�-यानं पन्थानम् आपद्याग्निलोकम� आगच्छत� � वायुलोकं
sa eta� deva-yāna� panthānam āpadyāgnilokam āgacchati sa vāyuloka�
“He travels on the path of the heavenly planets. First he goes to Agniloka and then to ܱǰ첹.�
ṃśaⲹ [doubt]: Should ܱǰ첹 be added to the path that begins with light, or should it not?
ū貹ṣa [the opponent speaks]: It should not, for the Śܳپ-śٰ describes these stages in a specific sequence, and because that sequence cannot be changed by someone’s whim.
Գٲ [conclusion]: In the following words the author of the ūٰ gives His conclusion.
