Nyaya (school of philosophy)
: WikiPedia: NyÄya°Õ²¹°ù°ì²¹²õ²¹á¹ƒg°ù²¹³ó²¹ (तरà¥à¤•संगà¥à¤°à¤¹) is a treatise in Sanskrit giving a foundational exposition of the ancient Indian system of logic and reasoning. The Tarka-Sangraha is authored by Annambhatta and the author himself has given a detailed commentary, called Tarka-Sangraha Dipika, for the text. Annambhatta composed the text as well as the commentary in the second half of 17th century CE. The text of Tarka-sangraha is a small book with about 15 pages only and it was composed to help boys and girls learn easily the basic principles of Nyaya.
: Shodhganga: A study of NyÄya-vaiÅ›eá¹£ika categories°Õ²¹°ù°ì²¹²õ²¹á¹ƒg°ù²¹³ó²¹ (तरà¥à¤•संगà¥à¤°à¤¹) of Annaṃbhaá¹á¹a is an excellent introductory treatise on the NyÄya-VaiÅ›eá¹£ika system of Indian Philosophy Yudhisthira Gopa says that the °Õ²¹°ù°ì²¹²õ²¹á¹ƒg°ù²¹³ó²¹ is primarily the door of the twin-»å²¹°ùÅ›²¹²Ôa, NyÄya and VaiÅ›eá¹£ika system. The language of °Õ²¹°ù°ì²¹²õ²¹á¹ƒg°ù²¹³ó²¹ is very easy, so anybody can understand it easily. In the preface of °Õ²¹°ù°ì²¹²õ²¹á¹ƒg°ù²¹³ó²¹ edited by Swami Virupakshananda it has rightly been said, “While the °Õ²¹°ù°ì²¹²õ²¹á¹ƒg°ù²¹³ó²¹ is meant primarily to unlock the doors of the twin-»å²¹°ùÅ›²¹²Ôa of NyÄya-VaiÅ›eá¹£ika, it is also the master key that has been used by the Acharyas of the other »å²¹°ùÅ›²¹²Ôas—the Saṃkhya and Yoga, MÄ«mÄṃsÄ and VedÄntaâ€â€
Annaṃbhaá¹á¹a starts his °Õ²¹°ù°ì²¹²õ²¹á¹ƒg°ù²¹³ó²¹ with a prayer to ÅšivÄ and saluting his guru. The work contains detail discussion about seven categories and their numerous divisions.
These categories are:
- substance (dravya),
- quality (²µ³Üṇa),
- action (karma),
- generality (²õÄå³¾Äå²Ô²â²¹),
- particularity (±¹¾±Å›±ðá¹£a),
- inherence (²õ²¹³¾²¹±¹Äå²â²¹),
- nonexistence (²¹²ú³óÄå±¹²¹).
These seven categories and their different subdivisions are most lucidly illustrated in this work which is accepted from Vaiśeṣika system.

Nyaya (नà¥à¤¯à¤¾à¤, nyaya) refers to a school of Hindu philosophy (astika), drawing its subject-matter from the Upanishads. The Nyaya philosophy is known for its theories on logic, methodology and epistemology, however, it is closely related with Vaisheshika in terms of metaphysics.

[Sanskrit to German]
Sanskrit, also spelled संसà¥à¤•ृतमà¥ (²õ²¹á¹ƒs°ìá¹›t²¹³¾), is an ancient language of India commonly seen as the grandmother of the Indo-European language family (even English!). Closely allied with Prakrit and Pali, Sanskrit is more exhaustive in both grammar and terms and has the most extensive collection of literature in the world, greatly surpassing its sister-languages Greek and Latin.
