Adhimukti (啶呧ぇ啶苦ぎ啷佮啷嵿い啶�) refers to 鈥渁ccording to one鈥檚 faith鈥� (eg., 鈥榯he rain of the dharma will pour down according to their faith鈥�), according to the Gaganaga帽japarip峁沜ch膩: the eighth chapter of the Mah膩sa峁僴ip膩ta (a collection of Mah膩y膩na Buddhist S奴tras).鈥擜ccordingly, as Bodhisattva Gaganaga帽ja explains to Bodhisattva Ratna艣r墨 what kind of concentration should be purified: 鈥淸...] (68) [when the Bodhisattvas attain] the concentration called 鈥楨ntering into the state of existence鈥�, they will understand all state of existence; (69) [when the Bodhisattvas attain] the concentration called 鈥楨ntering into intelligence,鈥� their thoughts and mind will be purified; (70) [when the Bodhisattvas attain] the concentration called 鈥楤eing endowed with cloud鈥�, the rain of the dharma will pour down according to their faith (adhimukti); [...]鈥�.

Mahayana (啶す啶距く啶距え, mah膩y膩na) is a major branch of Buddhism focusing on the path of a Bodhisattva (spiritual aspirants/ enlightened beings). Extant literature is vast and primarely composed in the Sanskrit language. There are many 蝉奴迟谤补蝉 of which some of the earliest are the various Praj帽膩p膩ramit膩蝉奴迟谤补蝉.

Adhimukti (啶呧ぇ啶苦ぎ啷佮啷嵿い啶�, 鈥渞esolution鈥�) or Adhimukti惫补艣颈迟腻 refers to the 鈥渕astery of resolution鈥� and represents one of the 鈥渢en masteries of the Bodhisattvas鈥� (惫补艣颈迟腻) as defined in the Dharma-sa峁僩raha (section 74). The Dharma-samgraha (Dharmasangraha) is an extensive glossary of Buddhist technical terms in Sanskrit (e.g., adhimukti). The work is attributed to Nagarjuna who lived around the 2nd century A.D.

Adhimukti or Adhimuktibala refers to the 鈥渢he strength of resolution鈥� and represents one of the 鈥渢en strengths of the Bodhisattvas鈥� (bala) as defined in the Dharma-sa峁僩raha (section 75).

But usually the object is related to (b) a religious aim. It may be specified, syntactically (in the loc.), as in ya峁冣€ugata岣� prabh膩峁te, adhimuktisa峁�- panna bhav膩hi tatra 厂补诲诲丑补谤尘补辫耻峁囜笉补谤墨办补 32.15, what the Buddha says, be perfect in zealous application to that. Usually it is not so specifically stated, tho the context is apt to suggest that it is zealous cultivation (study or propagation) of sacred texts or religious instruction that is meant (note-that the object of the verb adhimucyate is commonly some- thing of this sort); compare e.g. -loka峁� yath膩dhimukty膩 (according to their [varying types or degrees of] zeal or application) subh膩峁tena sa峁僼o峁yantam Lalitavistara 160.17; adhimuktis膩ro yo sy膩d鈥a岣�, pu峁噛a峁� labheta yo eta峁� (most mss.) s奴tra峁� v膩cel likheta v膩厂补诲诲丑补谤尘补辫耻峁囜笉补谤墨办补 342.3鈥�4.
