Introduction to the Māṇḍūkī Śṣ

The Śṣ belonging to the Atharvaveda is the Māṇḍukī Śṣ[1] which consists of 179 śǰ첹. Title of the Śṣ Śṣ suggests that its author was a person named Ѳṇḍū첹

मण्डूकेन कृता शिक्षा विदुषा वुद्धिदीपिनीम्
यो हि तत्वेन जानाति ब्रह्मलोकं .....

maṇḍūkena kṛtā śikṣ viduṣāṃ vuddhidīpinīm|
yo hi tatvena jānāti brahmaloka sa.....||

(Śṣāsaṃgraha, p. 478)

Although this Śṣ is connected with the Atharvaveda, it is particularly interested in accent which is common to all the Vedas, especially, the 峾岹[2] and seems to have further developed the teaching of the ī Śṣ on accent.
