2.15. Rudra as ʾ첹pāṇi
Rudra carries in his hands a beautiful bow. In the ᲹԱ⾱ṃh, it is mentioned that the name of Rudra’s bow is ʾ첹.[1]
It is clear by the explanation of Ѳī�
In another mantra of this Veda, Rudra is described as ʾ屹.[3]
Here, Ѳī gives an explanation of the term 辱屹 as:
辱屹� pinākākhya� tvadīya� dhanu...[4]
Ś is well known by the name ʾ첹pāṇi,[5] ʾ첹hasta[6] as well as ʾ쾱.[7] From these names, it is clear that lord Ś is also the wielder of a bow, ʾ첹.
