A King of the ṣv dynasty.

Genealogy.

From վṣṇ were descended in the following order:�-Ѳī-śⲹ貹-վ-Vaivasvata Manu-ṣv-վܰṣi-Śś岹-Kakutstha (ʳܰñᲹⲹ)-Anenas-ṛtܱś-Prasenajit-۳ܱś. This ۳ܱś was the father of Ի.

Other details.

(i) ۳ܱś performed many Yāgas. (Ѳٲ Vana Parva, Chapter 126, Verse 5).

(ii) Once he drank water which had been subjected to special mantras (incantations) and as a result he became pregnant. Ի was born by cutting open his belly. (For more details see under Ի).

(iii) ۳ܱś once received a wonderful sword from King Raivata. He presented that sword to King Raghu. (Ѳٲ ŚԳپ Parva, Chapter 166, Verse 78).

(iv) In Ѳٲ, ԳśԲ Parva, Chapter 115, Verse 61, it is stated that he had received "Parāvaratattva" (ability to know the highest and the lowest) because he had renounced meat-eating.
