Sasthi is personified as a goddess in a hymn of the Manava Grihya sutra. She is beseeched to give wealth to the devotee; she is auspicious, famous and omni-formed, and she is looked upon as the wife of desire. 64 People regarded Shashthi as a goddess who benowed wealth on them. As the wife of desire she ushers in her successor, Sasthi, the goddess of childbirth.
