This page relates 鈥楥onclusion鈥� of the study dealing with the Ashta-Nayikas鈥攁 classification of eight kinds of 鈥淗eroines鈥� representing the eight emotional states (avastha) employed in the classical Indian dance and performing arts (otherwise known as Natya Shastra). These Ashtanayikas reflect the eight types of romantic relationships and have hence formed the expressive subject of many classical painting, poems and dramatic plays.

After the whole thesis, it can safely be concluded that the A峁ａ弓a苍腻测颈办腻s are not just simple eight stages. They are almost like a phase, one leads to another thus, leading to grey areas.

Waiting for the hero long after his time of arrival has passed will lead a 笔谤辞峁迟补产丑补谤迟峁沰腻 to become a 痴颈谤补丑辞迟办补峁囜弓丑颈迟腻. Instead if she gets news about his arrival, then she will become an 痴腻蝉补办补蝉补箩箩颈办腻 (础惫补蝉颈迟补辫谤补惫腻蝉补辫补迟颈办腻).

If the hero arrives at that time, she will either have union or will abuse him and send him away.

The 苍腻测颈办腻 who goes to the hero could become a 痴颈辫谤补濒补产诲丑腻 when she sees the place empty or there could be union amongst them.

The hero could come to the heroine who is waiting eagerly for him. If he comes then, there will be Sambhoga and then she become a 厂惫腻诲丑墨苍补辫补迟颈办腻. If he does not arrive, then either she pines for him as a 痴颈谤补丑辞迟办补峁囜弓丑颈迟腻 or goes in search of him as an 础产丑颈蝉腻谤颈办腻.

Since one 苍腻测颈办腻 leads to another 苍腻测颈办腻, the combination and grey area that comes up will be thousands in number. Thus, though they are only eight in number, they give rise to thousands of situations and become all encompassing.
