Now, she (艢谤墨 笔腻谤惫补迟墨) describes the glories of that unique bhajana and how 艢谤墨 惭补丑腻濒补办峁墨 serves 艢谤墨 叠丑补驳补惫腻苍 unconditionally with the topmost prema. 惭补丑腻濒补办峁墨 certainly serves 艢谤墨 叠丑补驳补惫腻苍 with superb devotion, however 叠丑补驳补惫腻苍 is indifferent (苍颈谤补辫别办峁), that is, He is 腻迟尘补-谤腻尘补, Self-content by Himself, and 腻辫迟补-办腻尘补, Self-fulfilled for Himself, and therefore is not dependent on anyone. However, by worshipping that 苍颈谤补辫别办峁 or indifferent 叠丑补驳补惫腻苍, she accepted Him as her most beloved.
Her one-pointed love alone is the reason for accepting Him, but the question then arises as to how she obtained such an indifferent master? In reply to this, she is saying that by her austerities (迟补辫补蝉测腻) and the performance of a variety of services. Here, the meaning of 鈥渁usterities鈥� is 鈥渃oncentrating the mind on topics of 叠丑补驳补惫腻苍 and worshipping Him鈥�. For example, in the Tenth Canto (10.16.36) the 碍腻濒颈测补 苍腻驳补-patnis pray: yad-v膩帽chay膩 艣r墨r lalan膩carat tapo, vih膩ya k膩m膩n su-cira峁� dh峁泃a-vrat膩, 鈥淥 叠丑补驳补惫腻苍, aspiring for the dust of your lotus feet, 艢谤墨 尝补办峁墨-诲别惫墨 gave up all personal desires and observed vows for a long time by severe austerities, in spite of being your beloved.鈥�
Although 艢谤墨 惭补丑腻濒补办峁墨 is the eternal beloved of the master of 艢谤墨 Vaiku峁囜弓ha, 艢谤墨 狈腻谤腻测补峁嘺, she did not obtain that position as 艢谤墨 狈腻谤腻测补峁嘺鈥檚 beloved like other worshippers. However, in her 补惫补迟腻谤补蝉 such as the daughter of 叠丑峁沢耻 (叠丑奴尘颈) with the desire to obtain the service of the beautiful feet of 艢谤墨 狈腻谤腻测补峁嘺, she performed austerities. Therefore, by mentioning His indifference to her, the subject of her austerities has become illuminated.
