: Shodhganga: Kohala in the Sanskrit textual tradition (gita)痴颈蝉迟腻谤颈峁嚹� (啶掂た啶膏啶むぞ啶班た啶｀) refers to one of the two 艢谤耻迟颈蝉 of the Ni峁Ｄ乨a note of the Octave in Indian Music (often described in literature as consisting of twenty-two 艣谤耻迟颈蝉).鈥擪ohala brings out different theories on the number of 艣谤耻迟颈蝉. He says that some believe in twenty-two, 艣谤耻迟颈蝉, some in sixty-six and others believe in infinity. Bharata and many subsequent authors including 艢膩r峁単adeva etc. spoke of twenty-two 艣谤耻迟颈蝉.鈥擜ccording to the Sa峁単墨t膩r峁嘺vacandrik膩 (Cf. the Sa峁単墨tan膩r膩ya峁嘺, Vol. I, V. 1.49-1.55, pp.24-26), the Ni峁Ｄ乨a note has the following 艣谤耻迟颈蝉: 惫颈蝉迟腻谤颈峁嚹�, 辫谤补艣补蝉迟腻.
