Svarloka (啶膏啶掂ぐ啷嵿げ啷嬥) refers to one of the seven heavens (upper regions) according to the N墨lamatapur膩峁嘺. The N墨lamata mentions the threefold division of the universe indicated by the expressions like Tribhuvana, Trailokya etc. Evidently, the earth is the middle part, above and below which, are the heavens (e.g., Svarloka) and the nether worlds. But as a matter of fact, the division seems to be twofold only, for the earth itself is regarded as the lowest of the seven upper regions.
