: Shodhganga: Temple management in the 膧gamas (history)峁峁ａ弓yabdap奴rti (啶粪し啷嵿啷嵿く啶啶︵お啷傕ぐ啷嵿い啶�) refers to the 鈥�(ceremony regarding the) completion of 60th birthday鈥� which is performed in certain 艢aiva temples, according to [medieval] temple inscriptions and 艢aiv膩gamas.鈥擳he 蝉迟丑补濒补辫耻谤腻苍补 of the 艢r墨 Am峁泃agha峁璭艣vara Temple (Tirukka岣峚iy奴r) indicates that 艢iva appeared from the 濒颈峁単补 to protect M膩rka峁囜笉eya, a young devotee doomed to die at 16 years of age, by kicking K膩la, the lord of death. The other main deity in the temple is 艢iva in the form of K膩lasa峁僪膩ram奴rt墨. Therefore, the temple is an important worship centre for those praying for good health and long life. The 峁峁ａ弓颈补产诲补辫奴谤迟颈 (completion of 60th birthday) and 艣补迟腻产丑颈峁办补 (80th birthday) ritual celebrations are organized for the individual devotees in the temple premises.
