1) Dravadravya (द्रवद्रव्य) or Dravadravyavidhi refers to one of the chapters of the ūٰٳԲ of the śܳٲṃh, an important Ayurvedic treatise. The discourses of the teacher Divodasa are believed to be summarised by his disciple Suśruta, who wrote the work śܳٲṃh in 4th century CE. śܳٲṃh contains six sections [viz., ūٰٳԲ]. ūٰٳԲ contains 46 chapters. Here the food and drinks are described on the basis of liquid and solid items. The chapters namely Dravadravya-vidhi and Annapāna-vidhi explain food and drinks. Dravadravya-vidhi describes the properties of different types of liquids like water, milk, butter, butter milk, ghee, oils, sugarcane and beverages.

2) Dravadravya (द्रवद्रव्य) or Dravadravyavijñānīya refers to “liquid and solid food items� and represents a chapter of the ūٰٳԲ of the 5th century ṣṭṅgṛdⲹ by Vāgbhaṭa. The chapter ⲹñīⲹ contains subsections on water (jala), milk (ṣīr), sugarcane (ṣu), oil (taila) and liquor (madya) describes their varieties and properties in a detailed manner.
