Yoga (school of philosophy)
: ORA: Amanaska (king of all yogas): A Critical Edition and Annotated Translation by Jason Birch´¡»å³ó¾±°ìÄå°ù²¹±¹²¹³Ù (अधिकारवतà¥) refers to “one who is suitable (for Haá¹hayoga)â€, according to VijñÄnabhiká¹£u in his sixteenth-century SÄá¹…khyasÄra verse 6.2-3.—Accordingly: “One who is not capable of RÄjayoga, is suitable (²¹»å³ó¾±°ìÄå°ù²¹±¹²¹³Ù) for Haá¹hayoga. In the YogavÄsiá¹£á¹ha, Vasiá¹£á¹ha was taught thus by Bhusuṇá¸a. In RÄjayoga, one cultivates gnosis and, in Haá¹hayoga, the breathing exercises and postures. [Both of] them are important. Since they are auxiliaries, one [depends on] the other. They should [both] be practised according to one's capacityâ€.

Yoga is originally considered a branch of Hindu philosophy (astika), but both ancient and modern Yoga combine the physical, mental and spiritual. Yoga teaches various physical techniques also known as Äsanas (postures), used for various purposes (eg., meditation, contemplation, relaxation).

Sanskrit, also spelled संसà¥à¤•ृतमà¥ (²õ²¹á¹ƒs°ìá¹›t²¹³¾), is an ancient language of India commonly seen as the grandmother of the Indo-European language family (even English!). Closely allied with Prakrit and Pali, Sanskrit is more exhaustive in both grammar and terms and has the most extensive collection of literature in the world, greatly surpassing its sister-languages Greek and Latin.
