Bodhayana's aphorisms on the formation of various kinds of fire altars, and the positions which the priests and sacrificers are to occupy around them. The work embraces eight chapters (Patalas.) The MS. is imperfect, the latter portion of the 4 th and the beginning of the 5 th chapters being wanting. Contents: 1, Area meet for the altar ; 2, the number of bricks necessary for the altar, and the proper places for the different priests around it; 3, the receptacle for the fire to be made of bricks in the form of a hawk ; 4 and 5, formation of the altar like the nave of a wheel &c. ; 6, formation of the altar like the wheel of a chariot; 7, formation of quadrangular altars; 8, altars for burning grounds.
