3d. Rudra in the Saṃjñānṣṭ
In the ܻⲹԲ Śrauta Sūtra, it is stated that one who is disliked among the equals, should perform the Saṃjñānṣṭ. When those people with whom he desires to bring about harmony have assembled, he should offer a cake on eight potsherds to Vasumat-Agni, cooked rice to Rudravat soma, a cake on eleven potsherds to Marutvat-Indra and cooked rice to Ādityavat-ղṇa.[1] According to Chitrabhanu Sen, “Saṃjñānī (ṣṭ) an ṣṭ for obtaining ‘agreement� of the relatives of the sacrificer for recognizing him as a chief (ܻⲹԲ Śrauta Sūtra, XIII.20).�[2]
