This page relates ‘Balabharata of Rajashekhara� of the English study on the Kavyamimamsa of Rajasekhara: a poetical encyclopedia from the 9th century dealing with the ancient Indian science of poetics and rhetoric (also know as alankara-shastra). The Kavya-mimamsa is written in eighteen chapters representing an educational framework for the poet (kavi) and instructs him in the science of applied poetics for the sake of making literature and poetry (kavya).

Part 14 - The µþÄå±ô²¹²ú³óÄå°ù²¹³Ù²¹ of ¸éÄåÂᲹś±ð°ì³ó²¹°ù²¹

[Full title: The Dramas of ¸éÄåÂᲹś±ð°ì³ó²¹°ù²¹: (iv) The µþÄå±ô²¹²ú³óÄå°ù²¹³Ù²¹]

This is the incomplete drama of ¸éÄåÂᲹś±ð°ì³ó²¹°ù²¹. It is known another name ±Ê°ù²¹³¦²¹²Ô»å²¹±èÄåṇḲ¹±¹²¹ and possession of only two acts. It composed by only 147 verses and introduces â€�Dhruvaâ€� songs. S.K. De realize that it is, â€�¸éÄåÂᲹś±ð°ì³ó²¹°ù²¹â€™s second epic play, the µþÄå±ô²¹²ú³óÄå°ù²¹³Ù²¹ also called ±Ê°ù²¹³¦²¹²Ô»å²¹±èÄåṇḲ¹±¹²¹ is projected on the same scale and plan, to be a companion ±·Äåá¹­a°ì²¹ on the ²Ñ²¹³óÄå²ú³óÄå°ù²¹³Ù²¹ story, but is left incomplete[1].

In the first act begin with the conversation between ³Õ²âÄå²õ²¹ and ³ÕÄå±ô³¾Ä«°ì¾± on the matter of °­Äå±¹²â²¹°ì²¹á¹£á¹­²¹. Then we see the ³§±¹²¹²â²¹á¹ƒv²¹°ù²¹ of ¶Ù°ù²¹³Ü±è²¹»åÄ« and ±ÊÄå²Ô»å²¹±¹²¹²õ are disguised as µþ°ùÄå³ó³¾²¹²Ô²¹²õ are present there. ¶Ù°ù´Ç²ÔÄ峦Äå°ù²â²¹ sees that without Arjuna no one can wins the hand of ¶Ù°ù²¹³Ü±è²¹»åÄ«. Then when the all kings are futile Arjuna shoots the arrow and fulfills the all condition of ³§±¹²¹²â²¹á¹ƒv²¹°ù²¹. Then the all other kings are ready to fight and µþ³óÄ«³¾²¹ become overpowered.

In the act II, presented the gambling scenes. ³Û³Ü»å³ó¾±á¹£á¹­³ó¾±°ù²¹ agree about the twelve years of exile after pawning all his properly and also ¶Ù°ù²¹³Ü±è²¹»åÄ«. Then ¶Ù°ù²¹³Ü±è²¹»åÄ« was staked in this game of dice and brought to the court of Duryodhana and ¶Ù³ÜśśÄå²õ²¹²Ô²¹ attempted to insult her. In this time the Goddess ²ÑÄå²â²¹ giving her new clothes. To see the all things µþ³óÄ«³¾²¹ get angry and pledged to break the things of Duryodhana, drink the blood of his and lie up ¶Ù°ù²¹³Ü±è²¹»åī’s loosened hair by besmearing it with blood. Lastly the ±ÊÄå²Ô»å²¹±¹²¹²õ are going to the forest.

After study in this drama we can found that the dramatic value of this work is very poor. There we can get only a fragment of the drama and other characteristic.
