Story of ʰپṣṭ
The installation of deities in temples. According to Agni Purāṇa it is the installation of Śṅg that is called ʰپṣṭ.
īṻ is Śپ (Power) and ṅg is Ś. It is the union of Śپ in the form of īṻ and Ś in the form of liṅga that is called ʰپṣṭ. This ʰپṣṭ is attained by means of Śmantras. There are five different kinds of ʰپṣṭs:�
վśṣaپṣṭ.
Any pratiṣṭhā in which ś is used in combination is called վśṣaپṣṭ.
ٳ貹Բ.
Fixing the liṅga on the pīṭha (platform) is called ٳ貹Բ.
ٳٲٳ貹Բ.
The fixing of the liṅga (idol) on the pīṭha (platform) when the liṅga gets shaky on it is called ٳٲٳ貹Բ.
ٳٳ貹Բ.
Taking the idol out from the platform and refixing it, is called ٳٳ貹Բ.
Āٳ貹Բ.
A pratiṣṭhā in which after the fixation learned priests eonduct purification ceremonies, is called Āٳ貹Բ.
