Rig Veda 10.90.15

स॒प्तास्या॑सन्परि॒धय॒स्त्रिः स॒प्� स॒मिध॑: कृ॒ताः � दे॒व� यद्य॒ज्ञ� त॑न्वा॒न� अब॑ध्न॒न्पुरु॑षं प॒शुम् �
सप्तास्यासन्परिधयस्त्रिः सप्त समिध� कृता� � देवा यद्यज्ञं तन्वान� अबध्नन्पुरुष� पशुम� �
paridhayas ٰ� sapta � ṛt� | yad ⲹñ� ٲԱ abadhnan ܰṣa 貹śܳ ||

English translation:

“Seven were the enclosures of the sacrifice, thrice seven logs of fuel were prepared, when the gods,celebrating the rite, bound ʳܰṣa as the victim.�

Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya

Seven enclosures: sapta 貹󲹲ⲹ� = seven metres, ga-yatrīetc., and also as meaning the shallow trenches, three of which were dug round the Ā󲹱īⲹ fireplace, threeround the northern altar, and the seven ideally dug round the sun to keep off evil spirits. 貹󲹲ⲹ� = moats; or,the seven oceans; thrice seven pieces of fuel = twelve months of the year, the five seasons, the three worlds andthe sun; or the three classes of seven metres eaach: ղٳپīⲹ ṃh 5.1.10.3
