अग्रे॒ सिन्धू॑नां� पव॑मान� अर्ष॒त्यग्रे� वा॒च� अ॑ग्रि॒य� गोषु� गच्छति � अग्रे॒ वाज॑स्� भजते महाध॒न� स्वा॑यु॒धः सो॒तृभि॑: पूयते॒ वृषा� �
अग्र� सिन्धूना� पवमानो अर्षत्यग्र� वाचो अग्रिय� गोषु गच्छति � अग्र� वाजस्य भजते महाधनं स्वायुधः सोतृभि� पूयत� वृषा �

English translation:

“In the front of the waters rushes the filtered (Soma), foremost (he rushes) in the front of the voice, he goes among the rays; in the front he engages in battle (to win) food; well-armed, the showerer (of benefits), he is purified by the offerers of the oblation.�
