The Sanskrit names of these ten abodes are given by the Gaṇá¸havyÅ«ha, ed.
- PrathamacittotpÄdika (tch’ou fa sin): bodhisattva producing the mind of bodhi for the first time.
- Ādhikarmika (tche ti): beginner.
- YogÄcÄra (sieou hing): practicing the practices.
- Janmaja (cheng kouei): of noble birth.
- Pūrvayogasaṃpanna (fang che kiu tsou): without antecedents.
- ÅšuddhÄdhyÄÅ›aya (tcheng sin): animated by high pure resolve.
- Avivartya (pou t’ouei): without regressing.
- KumÄrabhÅ«ta (t’ong tchen): crown prince of the Dharma.
- YauvarÄjya (fa wang rseu): quality of crown prince.
- Abhiá¹£ikta (kouang ting): anointed with crucial anointment.

Mahayana (महायान, mahÄyÄna) is a major branch of Buddhism focusing on the path of a Bodhisattva (spiritual aspirants/ enlightened beings). Extant literature is vast and primarely composed in the Sanskrit language. There are many ²õÅ«³Ù°ù²¹²õ of which some of the earliest are the various PrajñÄpÄramitÄ ²õÅ«³Ù°ù²¹²õ.
