: Shodhganga: The significance of the m奴la-beras (艣ilpa)痴别濒腻测耻诲丑补 (啶掂啶侧ぞ啶啶�) or 艢aktivela (艢aktivel) is the name of an attribute held in the hand of Murukan and is an important accessory.鈥擨t is said that by holding this weapon, the three energies of 艢akti namely the 颈肠肠腻-艣补办迟颈 (energy of desire), the 箩帽腻苍补-艣补办迟颈 (energy of wisdom), and the 办谤颈测腻-艣补办迟颈 (energy of action) are within Murukan. Moreover, this instrument is believed to represent the three 驳耻峁嘺蝉 (sattva, 谤腻箩补蝉, and 迟腻尘补蝉), the trinity (Brahm膩, Vi峁ａ箛u and 艢iva), the three inner fires (garhapathya, avahaniya and 诲补办峁峁嘺诲丑测补) and the three Vedas. The 惫别濒腻测耻诲丑补, a symbol of Murukan, is often worshipped by itself. This implement is of two kinds: yaukika and laukika. The former is installed to benefit king, the public and the patron. The latter one includes all the other 艢akti implements that are worshipped by everyone to be benefited by everyone.
Shilpashastra (啶多た啶侧啶ざ啶距じ啷嵿い啷嵿ぐ, 艣ilpa艣膩stra) represents the ancient Indian science (shastra) of creative arts (shilpa) such as sculpture, iconography and painting. Closely related to Vastushastra (architecture), they often share the same literature.
