: archive.org: Hindu MathematicsTrayoda艣a产丑腻驳补 (啶む啶班く啷嬥う啶多き啶距) or Trayoda艣膩峁兣沘 refers to 鈥渢hirteen-parts鈥� (i.e., one-thirteenth) in Bhinna (鈥渇ractions鈥�) and Bh膩ga (鈥渦nit fractions鈥�), which refers to one of the twenty operations (logistics) of 辫腻峁玤补峁噄迟补 (鈥渟cience of calculation which requires the use of writing material鈥攖he board鈥�), according to P峁泃hudakasv膩m墨鈥檚 commentary on the Br膩hmasphu峁璦siddh膩nta by Brahmagupta, a Sanskrit treatise on ancient Indian mathematics (驳补峁噄迟补-艣腻蝉迟谤补) and astronomy from the 7th century.鈥擨n the 艢ulba, unit fractions are denoted by the use of a cardinal number with the term 产丑腻驳补 or 补峁兣沘; thus pa帽cada艣a-产丑腻驳补 (鈥渇ifteen-parts鈥�) is equivalent to one-fifteenth, sapta-产丑腻驳补 (鈥渟even-parts鈥�) is equivalent to one-seventh, and so on [e.g., trayoda艣a产丑腻驳补].
