: Shodhganga: Elements of Art and Architecture in the Trtiyakhanda of the Visnudharmottarapurana (shilpa)搁腻箩补惫补苍迟补 (啶班ぞ啶溹さ啶ㄠ啶�) refers to one of the materials used to make Colours in the ancient Indian tradition of Painting (citra), according to the Vi峁ａ箛udharmottarapur膩峁嘺, an ancient Sanskrit text which (being encyclopedic in nature) deals with a variety of cultural topics such as arts, architecture, music, grammar and astronomy. In the Vi峁ａ箛udharmottarapur膩峁嘺, five colours are regarded as the primary ones, (viz., white, yellow, colour of vilomata, black, dark blue.). Various materials are seen to be used to make colours. e.g., 谤腻箩补惫补苍迟补. A painter can create hundreds or thousands of colours by amalgamating the primary colours
