: Shodhganga: Bhismacaritam a critical studyʰپūṇa (प्रतिकूलवर्ण) refers to “discord of letters� and represents a type of ʲṃśaṣa (“defects occurring in parts of words�) which represents one of the various Kāvya-doṣas (‘poetic defects�), as employed in the Bhīṣmacarita (Bhishma Charitra) which is a 屹ⲹ (‘epic poem�) written by Hari Narayan Dikshit.—In ʰپūṇa certain letters are in consonance with the delineation of certain particular Passions; and letters that are not in such consonance are called ‘discordant�. An example is Bhīṣmacarita X.37.
