ʲ岹峾 (पदविरा�).—Pause between two words measuring two mātrās, or equal to the time required for the utterance of a long vowel; e. g. in इष� त्वोर्जे त्वा (ṣe tvorje ٱ), the pause between इष� (ṣe) and त्वा (ٱ) is measured by two mātrās; cf. पदविरामो द्विमात्रः (padavirāmo dvimātra�) T. Pr. XXII.13.Some Prātiśākhya texts declare that the pause between two words is of one mātra as at avagraha; cf. R Pr. II.1 and R. T. 35-38.
