Theravada (major branch of Buddhism)
: Pali Kanon: Pali Proper Namesor Milakkhuka. The name given to the people of non Ariyan origin, the Mlecchas. E.g., D.iii.264; A.i.35, etc. Their language is called Milakkhabhasa.
Theravāda is a major branch of Buddhism having the the Pali canon (tipitaka) as their canonical literature, which includes the vinaya-pitaka (monastic rules), the sutta-pitaka (Buddhist sermons) and the abhidhamma-pitaka (philosophy and psychology).
