On my morning walk
Near Rajghat
I heard somebody calling
Shanti!鈥� Shanti!鈥�
Turned
None!
Walked a while
Again Shanti! Shanti!鈥�
Same known voice
滨迟鈥檚 Mahatma!?
Wondering I asked him
Why are you calling Shanti? Bapu?鈥�
Where is Shanti!? Oh! Mahatma?
That鈥檚 why I am calling Shanti,
Bapu replied:
Wherever you see
Only bloodsheds
Dividing India, Splitting into pieces
In the name of racisms, religionisms
How do you expect peace for my Athma?
Whenever delegates, Politicians
Put wreaths on my Samadhi
I鈥檓 feeling the floral pricks
Rather than fragrance
Hoping for united India
Thought future India鈥檒l be shining bright
My dreams haven鈥檛 come true
That鈥檚 why I鈥檓 crying for peace.
