This page relates 鈥楬aricarita of Payyur Rishiputra Parameshvara I鈥� of the study on the Vasudevavijaya of Vasudeva from the 11th century A.D. The Vasudevavijayam is an educational poem belonging to the Shastra-Kavya category of technical Sanskrit literature. The Vasudevavijayam depicts in 657 verses the story of Lord Krishna while also elucidates the grammatical rules of the Ashtadhyayi of Panini (teaching the science of grammar). The subject-content of the poem was taken from the tenth Skandha of the Bhagavatapurana.

Haricarita is a small poem consists of 253 verses dealing with story of 艢谤墨办峁涐梗峁嘺. The work was not known till very recent times. The author of the work is 笔补谤补尘别艣惫补谤补 of Payy奴r family. The work begins with 驳墨rna岣� 艣谤别ya岣� which is the first of the 痴腻办测补蝉 used for determining the position of the moon day after day. The author has attempted to include in his poem the 痴腻办测补蝉 of Vararuci 驳墨rna岣� 艣谤别ya岣�, dhenava岣� 艣r墨岣� etc. By the 碍补峁璦辫补测腻诲颈 method, it helps to compute the astronomical positions of the moon day by day.

Here the first letter 驳墨 has ga and the vowel 墨 following. As such the vowel has no values, the letter ga stands for three. rnais a conjunct consonant of which 峁� is the first and has no value as such and the second na has the value of zero. In 艣谤别 also, the first consonant has no value and the second has the value of two.The 濒别迟迟别谤测补岣� has the value of one. The visarga has no value. The whole 痴腻办测补 denotes 1203. It gives zero for 搁腻艣颈, twelve for Tithi, and three for ili. It shows that the position is the third ili, in the 13th Tithi, in the first 搁腻艣颈.
