This page relates ‘Daily Divine Practices of Devotee (nitya kritya)� of the English study on the Shaivacintamani—an unstudied text on Shaiva or Shiva worship by Lakshmidhara Mishra, written in the late 17th century and edited for the first time in 1994 by Shri Dukhisyam Pattanaik from the Orissa State Museum. The present research aims to offer a comprehensive study of the Saivacintamani, filling the knowledge gap by being the first to provide in-depth analysis and commentary.

Part 11 - Daily Divine Practices of Devotee (nitya ṛtⲹ)
This practice is called as nitya ṛtⲹ as described in the text of ŚԳ峾ṇi. It is described in the following manner. A devotee of Ś should get up early in the morning with his mind on Ś, rinse his mouth out with the repeat of the letter �va[1] � symbolizing ambrosia for ten times, putting his sacred thread on the right ear go out for passing the urine and stool facing towards the north, clean his anus first with grass and then in water, wash his teeth and then bathe by invoking the sacred rivers like the Ganges and others in the water for the purpose, put on an undergarment tucked into the waist band at three places (tri 첹) and also an upper garment, put on mark sandal(Tilaka) over the three lines of ashes (Tri puṇḍra) on the forehead and other places of the body, sip water with �aghora mantra[2] � for the sake of internal purification, pray the mother earth to hold him prayer by sitting on a comfortable position, perform the ū (worship) of Ś in the order prescribed in the text. sake of internal purification, pray the mother earth to hold him prayer by sitting on a comfortable position, perform the ū (worship) of Ś in the order prescribed in the text. He takes bath, Pure mind, wear clean cloth and control all indriyas (carma and 貹śԲ� indriyas)[3]
Then he sees to bull as religion (dharma) and worship bull, o� mantras chanting four times and receipt īٳ ʳܰṇa, after ending this types of ritual the devotee’s destroy all types sins(ٲ, brahma ٲ)[4].
If one worships in front of Lord Ś in sacred place, he ruled allover world as a king and after death he goes to sacred way (brahma loka).[5]
