ladies like Tṛṣṇa, who belong to the same family, fall on the ground and
raise their lament."
Here the sentiment of Pathos is developed through Iṣṭanāśa i.e. the
destruction of Mahāmoha who is the beloved husband of Durmati, and through
Aniṣṭaprāpti i.e. obtaining widowhood, (this elememt is not evident). Here
lamentation of Durmati is Sthayibhāva; Mahāmoha who is already dead is
Ālambana; Uddipanabhava is silent. Tumburu's denouncing the fate, lamentation of
Tṛṣṇa etc. are Anubhāvas; Durmatis falling in swoon, decline of her status and
sorrowful condition are Vyabhicāribhāvas.
Thus these two are apt examples delineating Karuṇarasa.
Raudrarasa or Furious Sentiment :
Raudrarasa is usually developed in the battle scene. Krodha or Anger is its
Sthāyībhāva; Redness is its colour and Raudra is the deity of this sentiment.
enemy is the Ālambana-Vibhāva and the actions of the person like first fighting
become Uddipanabhāvas. Moreover, fist fighting making enemy to fall ground,
deceitful actions, rushing to the battle-field etc. Then biting one's lips, clapping,
sensuring, declaring one's own valour, holding a weapon etc. are Anubhāvas. And
Ugratā or Avega, Romāñcana, Sveda, Vepata, Mada etc. are Vyabhicāribhāvas of
Raudra sentiment.25
There are copious examples delineating this sentiment. For example;
