from what Vatsyāyana says as well as from the historical
example of Ambāpālikā of Vaisall Licchivis and Vasantsenä
'of Sudraka's drama, one should think that the accomplished
courtesan, comparable to the Greek hataera occupied an
important position in the social life of the period.

interest in literary and artistic taste.
