This page relates ‘Examples of Samanya Vasakasajjika� of the study dealing with the Ashta-Nayikas—a classification of eight kinds of “Heroines� representing the eight emotional states (avastha) employed in the classical Indian dance and performing arts (otherwise known as Natya Shastra). These Ashtanayikas reflect the eight types of romantic relationships and have hence formed the expressive subject of many classical painting, poems and dramatic plays.

Examples of the ʰ variety of the 첹ᾱ character of woman heroine:

शश्वच्चन्द� कुङ्कुमागरुमिलत्कर्पूरकस्तूरिकामोदक्षोदभरश्न तैरभिनवै� प्रत्यङ्कचञ्चद्रुच� �
शृङ्गारेषु यथ� यथ� वरतनोर्वाराङ्गनायाश्चिरं सव्यापारमह� धनेष्वपि तथ� जाता मनोवृत्तयः �

śaśvaccandana kuṅkumāgarumilatkarpūrakastūrikāmodakṣodabharaśna tairabhinavai� pratyaṅkacañcadruca� |
śṛṅgāreṣu yathā yathā varatanorvārāṅganāyāścira� savyāpāramaho dhaneṣvapi tathā jātā manovṛttaya� ||

चोलं नीलनिचोलकर्षणविध� चूडामणिं चुम्बन� याचिष्ये कुचयोः करार्पणविध� काञ्ची� पुनः काञ्चनीम् �
इत्थ� चन्दनचर्चितैर्मृगमदैरङ्गान� संस्कुर्वती तत्किंयन्न मनोरथं वितनुत� वारेषु वाराङ्गन� �

cola� nīlanicolakarṣaṇavidhau cūḍāmaṇi� cumbane yāciṣye kucayo� karārpaṇavidhau kāñcī� puna� kāñcanīm |
ittha� candanacarcitairmṛgamadairaṅgāni saṃskurvatī tatkiṃyanna manoratha� vitanute vāreṣu vārāṅganā ||

“When my lover attempts to remove my upper garment, I will ask him for a saree; when he kisses my lower lip, I will ask him for a ū峾ṇi; when he touches my breasts, I will ask him for a golden griddle� thinking thus, the courtesan, scents her self with musk and sandal, cherishing every moment of the union. [Here she seems to be cherishing the objects more than the union].

Semblence regarding  ʲī and 峾Բ 첹ᾱ

Rasabhās aur Bhāvabhās states that a ʲī and 峾Բ 첹ᾱ are .�

परकीया एवम् सामान्� वासकसज्ज� रसाभास� के हि विषय हैन्

parakīyā ēvam 峾Բⲹ rasābhās ke hi ṣaⲹ hain[3]

Any extraordinary display of lust would bring about an adverse effect to which ever it may be, but just because a is ʲī or 峾Բ does not mean, it is disgusting, but the concept of �strīṇām vārastu 첹�� might not suit a ʲī, as she might not be able to maintain a timetable among her usual schedule. It still holds good to 峾Բ. She can await her lover at her quarters according to turns. However, if she is assumed to be waiting with a confirmed message of his arrival, then even a ʲī can be a .
