upak膩r膩stu bhidyante sa峁儁ogisamav膩yin膩m || 149 ||149. Contact (耻辫补艣濒别峁) is the same whether the abode be sesame (tila), space (腻办腻艣补) or mat (办补峁璦) etc. But the service rendered differs according as the objects are in contact through 蝉补峁儁辞驳补 (conjunction) or through 蝉补尘补惫腻测补 (inherence).
Commentary
[The relation between an abode (腻诲丑腻谤补) and what is on it (腻诲丑别测补) is contact (耻辫补艣濒别峁). It is the same in all the three kinds of abodes. Where there is conjunction (蝉补峁儁辞驳补), the contact is not at all points, as in ka峁璭 膩ste = he sits on the mat. The sitter is not in contact with the mat at all points. Where there is inherence (蝉补尘补惫腻测补), the contact is at all points, as in tile峁 tailam = 鈥榦il in the sesame seeds鈥�. In khe 艣akunaya岣� = 鈥�birds in the sky鈥� and gurau vasati = 鈥榟e lives with the guru, the abode is said to be 惫补颈峁测颈办补. 膧办腻艣补 has no real parts but only fictional ones. To say that the disciple lives with the guru means that he depends upon him. It is in that sense that the guru is the abode, The contact between the two is mental.]
