O descendant of Bharata, surrender completely to Him, that Supreme Controller. By His grace, you will attain transcendental peace and the supreme eternal abode.

Commentary: Sārārtha-Varṣiṇ Ṭīkā

(By Śīla վśٳ 䲹ī Ṭhܰ; the innermost intention of the commentary named ‘the shower of essential meanings)

For the purpose of explaining the significance of surrendering to Him, Śī 󲹲 is now speaking this verse beginning with tam eva. ʲ峾 means ‘when both and cease, you will attain ղṇṭ, the eternal abode. According to some, those who worship ʲٳ attain the shelter of ʲٳ, whereas the worshippers of 󲹲 attain His shelter, as will be described later. Others constantly think, “My worshipful deity (ṣṭ-𱹲) is Śī ṛṣṇa, and He is my only guru. He alone will bestow bhakti-yoga and beneficial instructions upon me. I surrender to Him only. Śī ṛṣṇa Himself is my Գٲ峾ī, my indwelling witness. May He alone engage me in His service. I take exclusive shelter of Him. As Uddhava also says in Śī-岵ٲ (11.29.6), “O Lord, those who are greatly learned, who have acquired a duration of life equivalent to that of , and who blissfully remember You, always feel indebted to You. This is because You illuminate the embodied entities with the method to attain You. You accomplish this externally as the spiritual master (峦ⲹ-guru) and internally as the Supersoul (caitya-guru).

Commentary: Sārārtha-Varṣiṇ Prakāśikā-vṛtti

(By Śīla Bhaktivedānta ⲹṇa ҴDz峾ī ѲᲹ; the explanation that illuminates the commentary named ٳ-ṣiṇ)

Here, Śī 󲹲 instructs Arjuna to fully surrender to Գٲ峾ī, the indwelling witness in all. He is ʲś, who is causelessly merciful and who was described in the previous verse. ʲś is influenced by one-pointed surrender, which pleases Him. By His mercy, one can easily attain supreme transcen-dental peace and go to His imperishable abodes, such as ղṇṭ or Goloka. In this world, 󲹲 manifests Himself in five forms for the welfare of the ī, according to their service attitude. These five forms are (1) -vigraha–the deity, (2) Գٲ峾ī–the Supersoul, (3) vaibhava–incarnations of the Lord, (4) ū–expansions and (5) –Ś ṛṣṇa Himself.

Śī Caitanya-峾ṛt (Madhya-ī 22.47)

To bestow His mercy upon those living entities who possess suffi-cient accumulated spiritual merit, 󲹲 gives instructions–externally as the spiritual master and internally as guru within the heart (the caitya-guru)–about surrendering to Him.
