amedhyaku峁嘺p膩艣墨 ca k峁triya岣� ka峁璦p奴tana岣� || 71 ||The 叠谤腻丑尘补峁嘺 fallen off from his own duty becomes a 鈥榝ire-mouthed鈥� Preta feeding on vomitings; and the 碍峁迟谤颈测补 a 鈥榝oul-nosed鈥� Preta feeding on impure substances and dead bodies.鈥�(71)
Medh膩tithi鈥檚 commentary (manubh膩峁a):
The text proceeds to indicate the states fallen into by those who fall off from their duty.
The Preta feeds upon vomitings; and its mouth keeps flaming like a fire-brand.
鈥�碍耻峁嘺辫补鈥欌�攄ead body.
鈥�碍奴峁璦辫奴迟补苍补岣�鈥欌�攐ne from whose nostrils foul smell emanates.
鈥�碍补峁璦辫奴迟补苍补岣�鈥� is another reading; 鈥�碍补峁璦辫奴迟补苍补鈥� b eing the name of a being of the 鈥�笔颈艣腻肠补鈥� species, who keeps hovering in cremation-grounds.鈥�(71)

This verse is quoted in 惭颈迟腻办峁谤腻 (3.220), in the sense that the man neglecting his duties suffers the same tortures as the 鲍濒办腻尘耻办丑补 and the rest.
