This propounds the expiation for the offences described above.
The 鈥榮hedding of blood鈥� spoken of here is something different from 鈥榗ausing pain to a 叠谤腻丑尘补峁嘺鈥� mentioned above (under 67); or the two may be regarded as optional alternatives.鈥�(208)

This verse is quoted in 厂尘峁泃颈迟补迟迟惫补 (p. 479);鈥攊n 惭颈迟腻办峁谤腻 (3.280), which remarks that when bleeding is brought about, it must involve both 鈥榯hreatening鈥� (补惫补驳奴谤补峁嘺) and 鈥榮triking鈥� (苍颈辫腻迟补苍补),鈥攁s without these there could be no wounding but in the case of bleeding, the expiation would be 鈥�碍峁沜肠丑谤腻迟颈办峁沜肠丑谤补鈥� (which is prescribed for the bleeding), and not 鈥�碍峁沜肠丑谤补鈥� and 鈥�础迟颈办峁沜肠丑谤补鈥� also (which are prescribed separately for 鈥榯hreatening鈥� and 鈥榮triking鈥� respectively);鈥攁nd in 笔谤腻测补艣肠颈迟迟补惫颈惫别办补 (p. 464).
